Theobroma cacao
A small, evergreen understory tree native to the tropical Amazon rainforest, renowned as the source of cocoa beans for chocolate. It features glossy, oblong leaves, small white-pink flowers directly on the trunk (cauliflory), and football-shaped pods (15–30cm) containing 20–60 seeds embedded in white pulp.
