Rosella produces striking bright red, fleshy calyxes with a delicious tart, cranberry/rhubarb-like flavour. They’re incredibly versatile in the kitchen and are traditionally used for:
🍓 Homemade jams & jellies
🥤 Cordials & syrups
🫖 Hot or iced tea
🍰 Desserts & sauces
🥗 Even the young leaves are edible!
The plants are fast growing and love the warmer weather, developing into a productive bush that can reach around 2 metres tall. The red calyxes form after flowering and are harvested once they’re plump and fully developed. (STFC⁠)
